Terms of Use
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Agreement
By downloading or using Station Pass ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms apply alongside Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs apps from the App Store.
What the app does
Station Pass predicts when satellites, spacecraft, planets, comets, meteor showers, rocket launches and other sky events may be visible from a location, and estimates how good each will look. It's an informational tool for hobby sky-watching.
Predictions are estimates
Predictions are calculated from public orbital, launch and weather data, which can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Orbits change, launches slip, forecasts miss, and brightness and visibility scores are models rather than measurements. We don't guarantee that any event will happen, or be visible, at the time or place shown. Don't rely on the app where accuracy matters for safety, navigation or any professional purpose.
Stay safe
- Never look at the Sun with your eyes, binoculars, a telescope or a camera unless you're using a proper certified solar filter. Sun-transit predictions are for people with the right equipment. Looking at the Sun can cause permanent eye damage.
- Be aware of your surroundings when watching the sky, especially at night and near roads, water or uneven ground.
- Respect private property and local rules when choosing an observing spot, and don't use the app while driving.
Tips
The app offers optional tips through Apple's in-app purchase system. Tips are voluntary, one-off payments that don't unlock any features or content. Payments, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms; to request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app for anything unlawful, and don't attempt to interfere with the app or the data services it relies on.
Third-party data and services
The app uses data and services from third parties, including Apple Weather, CelesTrak, NASA, the IAU Minor Planet Center and The Space Devs. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control. Credits and licences are listed in the app under Settings → About → Acknowledgements & licences. Satellite and agency names are used only to identify what the app tracks; Station Pass isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NASA, ESA, CMSA, SpaceX or any space agency.
Intellectual property
The app's design, code and content belong to the developer and are protected by intellectual property laws. Third-party data and software remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or its predictions.
Changes
We may update the app, change or remove features, or stop offering it at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
